This aircraft needs a few repairs. A very experienced Helio mechanic did a buyers inspection on it and came up with this list: Very roughly 10-50k worth of work depending on who does it and whether the engine is repaired or overhauled (obviously putting a factory reman in it would push the price to the upper end). It was only parked due to winter weather and only listed for sale due to a lost medical. Supposedly the AD on the oil pump is due and Cyls 5 and 6 have some rust showing although it was running fine when it was parked in fall of 2006. The Cessna seat installation is not legal as the rails are not attached to the structure. The floor boards may need to be replaced with proper material and while they are out and some stringers need to be installed on the belly skin, but that is supposedly not very difficult once the floor boards are out. It needs some welding work on the tubing under the instrument panel....probably fairly minor. It is out of annual as the owner parked it at the end of the float season 06 and then had his medical jerked that winter. Again, That’s the only reason its for sale. It has been damaged a couple times but flies nicely. | |
